4 months!

So last week Leah turned 4 months! We went to her 4 month check up at the doctors, she did really well and is such a good baby as usual :) She weighed 14.1 lbs and is 25 1/2 inches , so she is almost average and he said that she looks healthy and fine. She got two of her shots (we are doing Dr. Sears method) and didn't cry at all! We talked to the doctor and he said that sleepwise she could be doing a little better, but to not worry about it too much yet. He also reccomended that we could start trying to give her a little bit of cereal before bed...we have tried it twice, but it doesn't really seem to do anything. And also I read something today that said you should not start babies on solids till they are 6 months, so ya I am not really sure what to do...any suggestions? He also said that we should continue to give her lots of tummy time and to try and let her sit up without any help so she can start to strengthen her back muscles. Anyway we are finding that there is so much to learn, but we are having so much fun along the way! We love our little Leah bug.

Here is a few recent pictures of her and us...

Leah and her teddy bear. She likes to eat him :)

This was a Sunday afternoon and she was just talking so much that I thought I would get it on tape.

  1. She is darling! It's hard having the doctor say one thing and then hear other stuff else where. Just do what you're comfortable with. Solids doesn't help Isabel sleep any better either, we still feed her the oatmeal anyways. I just started adding vegetables to the cereal too. I've heard the 6 month thing too, I believe it's to help prevent food allergies.

  2. Leah is so cute. We have not seen her in over a week and we miss her! As for the feeding thing, we were told to try solids with Olive also. It didn’t help her sleep any better and that rice cereal is so processed and gross. Research shows that there is nothing more nutritious that breast milk. I would say wait until she is 6 months, unless solids seem to be helping her sleep better. My friend’s baby is almost a year old and still almost exclusively breastfeeds and is so healthy. She has only been sick once or twice and is the so cute and chunky. From my own personal experience, solids did nothing for the sleeping. Good luck.
